Tango Workshops 2011

Mario Consiglieri & Anabella Diaz-Hojman

We are very please to announce the return of these two wonderful tango teachers, for their seventh  tour to Australia.

They are dedicated teachers and instructors of world renown and stars to many around the world.  Mario and Anabella have been teaching and dancing together since 2003. Spontaneous and musically creative dancers, they possess the ability to transmit the emotional roller coaster that Tango Music is so well known for.

From Di Sarli to Piazzolla, Mario and Anabella can tempt you with tricky 1/4 note rhythmic alterations, or dazzle you with fused movements incorporating modern methods of relaxed movement. Relatively young, they contribute in representing the newest generation of tango dancers - aware and knowledgeable in the various dynamics of dance and movement as well as music theory and theatrical application.

Mario & Anabella have conducted seminars and workshops throughout Australia, Europe, North America and frequently in Buenos Aires. They participate in important festivals and projects around the world and are highly valued for their clarity as teachers. They possess a unique knowledge and capacity to transmit information spanning from the Golden area of tango to the most modern elements found in contemporary tango.

Their current schedule of workshops and classes around the world consists of:

  • January - Italy

  • February - Buenos Aires

  • March - Buenos Aires

  • April to May - Sydney, Melbourne, Perth

  • May - Philadelphia - (USA)

  • June  - Toronto (Canada)

  • August - Buenos Aires

  • September - Buenos Aires

With Buenos Aires being their home and base, they regularly participate in annual projects like Seminario Recursos del Tango, Contemporaneo and Desafios Maestros.

They also offer a selection of special seminars at the well known "Practica X" in Buenos Aires, plus regular classes at "Esquinazo Tango House, as well as Anabella's well attended Women's Techique courses, run twice yearly.

Mario has established his dancing and teaching styles from some of the Masters of Tango like Gustavo Naveira, Chicho Frumbolli and Fabian Salas.  Mario is further developing a style of Tango which incorporates innovative steps with creative musicality, fluidity, and an increased capacity for self-expression.
Since 2002 Mario has proved himself to be a dedicated and popular teacher - traveling around the world giving workshops and performances.

Anabella is an incredibly talented dancer/ instructor. She has performed and taught with Mario in Syracuse, NY, as well as NYC, NY. She has also partnered with Pablo Inza and Fabrizio Forti in Buenos Aires, Argentina - her hometown. Dancing since she was a little girl. Anabella has studied contemporary dance, martial arts, and intensive studies with Chicho & Eugenia. She is one of the most beloved social dancers in Buenos Aires, and has an incredible sensitivity as a follow. Her knowledge of the dynamics of dance, and musicality, make her an especially valuable asset in a classroom setting.

  • All workshops will be conducted in English, so no problem being "lost in translation".

  • Plus see some recent Video Clips of Mario & Anabella

Incredible teachers and inspiring performers, don't miss this great opportunity to learn with one of the Tango's most passionate couples.
